Become a Certified Diplomate of the
Philippine College of Lifestyle Medicine, the
Asian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and the
International Board of Lifestyle Medicine

Lifestyle Medicine is the only specialization in Medicine that has an International Board Certification! This ensures a uniform standard of medical care, not only in one's own country but around the globe.

Chronic disease is now responsible for 70 to 80% of all health care expenditure, yet most health professionals treat chronic disease the same way they treat communicable disease: with pills and injections. While this might temporarily relieve acute symptoms, it does not address the underlying cause of the chronic disease.
Most physicians and health professionals receive little to no education on nutrition, exercise, rest or social connectivity, which are the four pillars of Lifestyle Medicine. This is akin to an automotive engineer not spending any time on learning how to propel a motor vehicle in the most efficient and sustainable manner, whether that be petrol, diesel, electricity or a combination thereof.

Learn how to prevent, arrest and reverse chronic disease in a scientific, evidence based manner and receive the official seal of approval that you have studied and mastered the discipline from the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine.

The Philippine College of Lifestyle Medicine will be having an  International Board of Lifestyle Medicine  (IBLM) Certification in Metro Cebu, Philippines, right after the PCLM 2019 on August 27, 2019.  Don't miss this opportunity to be one of the first Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physicians or Lifestyle Medicine Health Professionals in the Philippines!

How To Certify

The IBLM and its member associations, colleges, societies and organizations are committed to a globally standardized approach to lifestyle medicine certifications. This includes exam eligibility, prerequisites, exam questions and length, pass rates and certification costs (tiered to account for the variations in purchasing power). As the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine has been the first institution to hold certifications, the IBLM global standards have been modelled against the ABLM standards. Each region has minor modifications to account for local circumstances.

Certification eligibility, prerequisites, lifestyle medicine competencies and exam logistics, will be based on the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine requirements but instead of requiring a medical board certification from the US, your medical board certification or equivalent, must come from the Philippines'  Professional Regulations Commission . To prepare for the board exam, the recommended board review is Foundations of Lifestyle Medicine Review Course, 2nd Edition . To register, click HERE .

Once all prerequisites have been accomplished, you may then proceed to registering for the exam through the following website:

The IBLM is working with the following organisations, to bring a globally unified certification framework to the market:

The Amercian Board of Lifestyle Medicine
The Asian Society of Lifestyle Medicine
The Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine
                                                                     The European Lifestyle Medicine Organisation
The Latin American Lifestyle Medicine Association

Once Africa is organized, IBLM will be collaborating with them too.

Each regional or country lifestyle medicine organization runs their own examination, using the global exam and proctoring provided by the IBLM. Certifications are co-issued by the local and regional organization holding the exam and the IBLM.
